Nook is a curated reading subscription service and community designed to help people disconnect from screens and rediscover the joy of reading. With over 78% of surveyed users wanting to read more but lacking motivation, Nook answers that need through themed monthly book kits and interactive events that make reading immersive, social, and engaging.

Interactive Website

The Interactive Website was created as an immersive reading experience designed to feel like stepping into a physical book. Built for both mobile and desktop, the desktop version unfolds into two panels—much like open pages—to evoke the intimacy, curiosity, and calm of reading. Through layered visuals and storytelling-driven navigation, Nook reimagines how users connect with books in a digital space. It invites visitors to pause, explore, and rediscover the joy of reading in a world that moves too fast.

The Product

The Product is a hand-crafted, immersive book box designed to help readers reconnect with the joy of reading. Each month features a recommended Book of the Month paired with custom items—like magnetic bookmarks, collectible pins, and a themed box—all created by me using glue, specialty papers, vinyl, shrinky-dink sheets, magnetic materials, and the Cricut Joy Xtra as well as nfc tags in the back for readers to access the website as well as their book. Every element is intentionally designed to bring the book’s world to life, giving new and seasoned readers a creative, tactile experience that makes turning the page feel exciting again.

The Event

The Nook event was an immersive, student-centered celebration of reading, creativity, and community. The experience was designed to pull people into the world of Nook, beginning with the interactive
Turn the Page game, where players flipped to surprise pages and won raffle tickets through mystery boxes. A Peer-2-Peer discussion space invited students to talk about their favorite books, discover new genres, and connect through shared stories.

To complete the experience, all visual materials—including merchandise, posters, advertisements, and promotional graphics—were created specifically for the event. Every detail was crafted to build a cohesive atmosphere that encouraged curiosity, conversation, and a renewed love for reading, all while fitting within a single tote for easy transport and quick setup.
